This Privacy Policy applies to bookings.mooies.co.uk (“Mooies Cake Courier”), operated by Mooies Couture Cake House, Mill Close,Chelmsford. Mooies Cake Courier is part of Mooies Couture Cake House.

2. What information we collect

When you book a delivery or make an enquiry, we collect:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number
  • Job details: collection address, delivery address, date and time needed, any notes you provide (e.g. access instructions, fragile item details)
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe or PayPal — we do not see or store your card details ourselves (see Section 4)
  • Enquiry details: if you contact us via our quote form or WhatsApp, we collect whatever information you choose to share about your job

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

3. Why we collect it

We use this information to:

  • Confirm and fulfil your booking
  • Contact you about your delivery (collection/delivery updates, confirmations, any issues)
  • Process payment
  • Respond to enquiries and quote requests
  • Keep records for accounting, insurance, and legal purposes

The legal basis for processing this data is that it’s necessary to perform the contract between us (fulfilling your booking) and, in some cases, our legitimate business interests (e.g. record-keeping, fraud prevention).

Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal. When you pay, your card or account details go directly to them — we never see or store your full card details on our own systems. Stripe and PayPal have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your payment data:

We share your information only where necessary to fulfil your booking:

  • Stripe / PayPal — to process payment
  • Formidable Forms / our website hosting provider (SiteGround) — to operate the booking and enquiry forms and host the site
  • [Anyone involved in fulfilling the physical delivery] — e.g. if a job is passed to a self-employed driver, relevant job details (addresses, contact number) are shared with them so they can complete the delivery

We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not share it for marketing purposes without your consent.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep booking and order records for 6 years to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Enquiry form submissions that don’t result in a booking are kept for 12 months before being deleted.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to our legal obligations to keep certain records)
  • Object to or restrict how we use your data
  • Request your data in a portable format
